Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Why do I need to have a professional design done?

Answer: A solid, professional design is the cornerstone of a successful landscaping project. It ensures that you and the Landscape Architect are on the same page, and that the builder has clear direction on how the job will be carried out. You will also be able to get a very accurate bid, as we will know the exact materials and quantities that your project requires. This could save you thousands of dollars in the long run. (Consider this: You wouldn't have a house built without having a blue print, would you?)

Question: Why should I hire a company owned and operated by a Landscape Architect?

Answer: A Landscape Architect has a minimum 5 year degree in the field. They have the knowledge and skills to create a beautiful landscape design, and are also trained in the proper methods of landscape construction. They will ensure that all structural integrity needs are met, and that all materials are installed per the manufacturer's specifications. This ensures that your landscape will last, and will not cause damage to existing structures or foundations. Therefore, you will be able to enjoy your landscape, not worry about it.

Question: Is it worth paying for a professional design by a Landscape Architect?

Answer: Yes. It will save you money overall because you will have a clear plan for your project. This will ensure that you know exactly what materials and other costs are required, and that the work is done in the most efficient way possible.

Question: Why do landscape bids vary so much in price?

Answer: They vary because of the quality of work, the materials used, the type of insurance carried by the builder (such as Work Mans Compensation), and whether the work is guaranteed or not. Be wary of bids that are much lower than average, as you may end up paying what you saved to fix low quality work. Also, be wary of bids that are extremely high, as you might just be getting taken advantage of.
